OUR PRIVACY POLICY
We do not collect 'personal data'
If information is not collected, it cannot be stolen, claimed, leaked, or misused. Protecting your personal information is the best way to ensure your online privacy.
How we define 'personal data'
Our definition of personal data is based on EU privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These laws and regulations are considered by many to be the strongest privacy protections in the world. We consider all information about you or your behaviour that can be traced back to you as personal data.
We also do not collect 'other data'
So to be clear: we do not register your IP address or your location. No tracking takes place and no cookies are placed.
The app is not connected to the Internet
The app is designed in such a way that contact with the internet is never made. The only way to do that is if you as a user choose the option "Share my Observation Log". This will transfer the selected log as text to an app of your choice. You decide whether you send your data.
How we respond to government data requests
They can't ask for something we don't have. Any request will have to come from Dutch judicial authorities. We will only comply if we are legally obliged to do so. But we probably won't receive requests from governments to hand over user data — simply because we don't have it.
The app complies with the GDPR
We are based in the EU and fully comply with applicable EU privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These laws and regulations are considered by many to be the strongest privacy protections in the world.
Dutch Data Protection Authority
We are always ready to help. In accordance with EU privacy laws and regulations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the national supervisory authority responsible for the protection of personal data if you believe that we have unlawfully processed your personal data.
